The Westin Hotel on 42nd Street. I was standing on the corner waiting for the light to change and thought, what the heck. I suspect there are around a million shots like this on flickr, but I wanted to post something completely different today.
That is a beautiful shot Mike..... it looks like a painting, good angle, I love the heavy contrast look but this image does great with little contrast. Another great job!!!
Thanks guys! I think shooting architecture in NYC is like what Gerry called "fishing in a barrel." But with that comes the difficulty of making a decision on what to shoot - there are just too many choices!
Thanks Bill, that's another way of putting it :-) I'm pretty sure the two building are the same complex, I need to look at it more carefully next time I pass by. I know the street level there is a crowded ugly mess...
I love this one, Mike! Great composition, lines, and color. Great shot!

ReplyDeleteGreat shot. The buildings look indeed like a painting. Perhaps the even coloring without hard light.

ReplyDeleteGreat shot. The two building compliment each other very well.
ReplyDeleteI would absolutely love to shoot architecture in NYC. 'Kid in a candy store' springs to my mind.
Thanks Bill, that's another way of putting it :-)
