Painted Maple

 

I may have an explanation later. Took this yesterday at the colonnade overlooking the Hudson River.

Update

So here's the explanation. This colonnade was recently painted, with a sprayer, which of course spilled over onto the unprotected maple trees on the ends of the structure.
