Graffiti Tree

Graffiti Tree

Outside the Cloisters Museum in Fort Tryon Park, where I walk almost every day. I've shot this tree on several occasions from different angles, and can never seem to get it right. This is close. It's in shade all day long, so separating it from the background for contrast isn't easy.

  1. Interesting tree. I reckon a series of real close ups would be nice. Get nice and macro on that tattooed tree of history!

  2. I've tried a few macros, but they just look flat to me. I'll keep trying, though :-)

  3. I like the shots ... have you tried going at night and painting with light? Use a long exposer and paint the tree with a flash light. There is a lot on the internet about it. Cool shot

  4. Thanks Gerry, that's a technique I've never attempted, maybe when the days get shorter...
