Cushions

Cushions

Another one from the freezer, end of June. Hope to get out tomorrow and take some pics.

  1. I am not shure about this one Micheal. It is not as clean as the most of your other pictures. Perhaps is the street and the facade to much the same gray and the chairs are on my screen disappearing in it.

  2. The cushions, for me, provide an interesting counterpoint - a couple of "soft" elements in that hardscape of brick and concrete (despite the potted plants). Also for me, the pattern on the cushions somehow suggests/morphs into bars on the windows - Weird how my mind made that connection...

  3. Thanks for the feedback, guys! I don't think it's a problem with your monitor, s.c. - there is an overall grayness that in my eye, as George suggests, makes the cushions pop in contrast. It may be that the rest of the composition/lighting are too weak to carry it, I wouldn't disagree. That may be why I didn't post it when it was originally taken - there's something here that I like, but something not quite right as well. Either way, it's helpful to grapple with these questions :-)
