Sky Lines

It's been a rough patch for getting any photography in. Posting a few random pics from recent weeks.

Early Snow

Total chaos in NYC on Thursday. Snow didn't start till early afternoon and city did nothing to diminish possibility of traffic problems by closing government offices early or shutting down schools. Just a regular rush hour traffic fiasco on top of heavy snow and poor preparation by road crews. Trees still holding on to fall foliage toppled under the weight. Otherwise it was real pretty :-/

Snowy Barriers

Same snow day. Thursday.

Tarrytown Lighthouse

Under Construction

Assignment: Checkered pattern.

Walkway is along Pier 26. The city has put a lot of money and effort into revitalizing the waterfronts around the New York. Old abandoned piers are repurposed for recreational activities, parks, restaurants, performance spaces. Across the street anoter new high rise under construction.

The State of Things

Never attended rallies or marches or protests until Trump usurped the presidency and proceeded to shred every last vestige of decency at home and abroad. Staying busy now. Times Square vigil last night.

Bus Terminal Vents

Local Flavor

The Pandering Pig is a restaurant in my little neighborhood. Haven't eaten there yet, but it's on my list.Cafe Buuni, blurred in the background, serves great Ethiopian coffee. The owners are Ethiopian immigrants. Yes immigration!

Tappan Zee Bridge

Officially renamed Mario Cuomo Bridge, but I refuse to acknowledge the change. Mario's son, Andrew, is Governor now, which makes it kinda tacky that he pushed through the naming of the bridge after his father. It would be fine if there were a new bridge being constructed that didn't already have a name.
