The four individual curved lines are well spaced, and create a nice pattern. Imagine if they were just 4 black lines on a white background, with no perspective or real life connection. Like parabolic or hyperbolic lines on a graph created by a specific functions and formulae.

Fine use of perspective to draw our attention to whatever is around the curve or down the promenade - creates an interesting tension.
