Roots

Ginko Base

Exposed Roots 1

Exposed roots 2

The exposed roots of the Ginko tree extend a good meter or more beyond the base of the tree and are well worn from much foot traffic, as seen in the last two shots. Light is a little flat here, but that's what I had to work with today.

  1. Nice ones again. Like the search to interesting mosaic photography. Enjoy today.

  2. I often prefer shooting in flat light - makes for more even exposure and less fiddling with contrast "in post". Great images showing the aged magnificence of a living thing - the Great Ginko.

  3. I love the abstract forms in nature. The non-symmetrical ones here are especially intriguing.

  4. I love the textures. They are beautiful and ugly at the same time. Or maybe that's just me? Great abstracts
