Proceeding Being

By Damien Vera. Constructed of stainless steel and cast stone. Installed on the walkway along the Hudson River in Riverside Park South.

*NOTE: I originally misidentified this sculpture as Proceeding Being.

  1. Sharp pointy and clean. Just the elements you like for a great composition. I wonder how it looks from the distance and the angle where you are supposed to look at it.

  2. The transition top to bottom from dark to light in the sky and the pieces themselves is an interesting feature. The razor-sharp look of the edges and ultra-sharp points lend this construction a rather menacing presence. I'm curious if there's some sort of statement being made by the artist - or is a sail just a sail...

  3. Striking image. Spikey and dangerous looking architecture. I like it.
