Rapids

Rapids

Upstate New York, in Sullivan County, about 100 miles from NYC. Not the most dramatic rapids in the world, but part of my "territory." Not quite peak fall colors yet, but enough that you know what season we're in. I did not directly manipulate color saturation in this pic (just contrast & brightness), it's really that intense here after a wild stormy night and in the soft early morning light.

  1. Beautiful nature shot. Love the brightness in the colors of fall and the rushing water in the stream. Nice movement of the water in the rapids with the contrast of the calm still branch in the foreground. Nice contrast to your "manmade" city shots :)

  2. You have a very beautiful territory. I like outdoor shots at the start of fall (autumn lol). A better sun light, and more varying foliage colour. A quieter time.

  3. Thanks guys. I always wanted to play around with the longer shutter speeds and blurred motion, this was a good time to do it...
