The indecipherable lettering reflects the changing corporate management of the pier mid-20th century. Read about it here. This is the pier from which the Lusitania launched its final voyage, and the Titanic survivors arrived here as well.
Thanks s.c. - I intended this one to be color all along, and I did give the b&w a look, didn't care much for it. The rust and green color add something here. The light is far from perfect, a little too late in the morning and contrasty, but that's when I was there.
Great architectural shot. Have you also considered to do it in B&W as I see it as a B&W subject.
