Love the 3 photo's here Micheal . Only 1 and 2 are for your photo book about clear lines and strong geometrical compositions as you have made a lot before. Wish you a good week.
Can really sense what the cold, wet, slippery surface of the metal railings would be to the touch in the first two - Nicely exposed and composed images. Lovely sharp image of the lonely seagull against the backdrop of the (George Washington?) bridge in the background - effective use of depth-of-field and subtle coloration, too.
I just love the way you framed these, and your earlier shots. You call them trivialities and turn them into works of art. Only just found your blog, but I will follow from now on.
Catching up on your blog... The first two really are perfect examples of your art. Using the man made objects of your surroundings, you have given a true sense of the less than Christmasy winter season. The final shot is a sellable image to hang on any wall... nice image, technically well taken and processed.

ReplyDeleteNice ways to register the influence of water on metal. The gull probably did not meet many human beings that day except for you... :-)
