Sandy

Sandy

Riding out the storm...

  1. Hope everything is well in your neighborhood. The things we see here on television are real scary and terrible. Especially the flooding of lower manhattan and the subway. You really don't expect this to happen. But by seeing this post you must have electricity and that is meanwhile something already. Take another glass.

  2. Thanks s.c. I'm in upper Manhattan, near the highest point on the island, some 100 meters above sea level and about 12 miles up river from the sea and Battery Park/Lower Manhattan. Power is out in Midtown and below, but we were lucky to have power throughout. As of now, at least. The worst of it is over, the damage will of course take time to repair..

  3. Welcome back to bloggerland, Michael, and good to hear your neighborhood is relatively high and dry(er). The golden glow of the wine and splash of red-orange create a warming effect. A nice counterpoint to the stormy outdoors I'm thinking...

  4. Thanks George, I didn't want to completely disappear this time, I'm trying to add something later tonight. And yes, there was a roaring wind all night, fortunately that's the extent of the hurricane for me personally - and having most of the week off from work - a mixed blessing.
